How to Create a Mentoring Program

  1. Next to Mentoring Program Name, type in the name of your program.
  2. Decide if you will be the Program Manger for the mentoring program or choose someone else to be the Program Manager.
  3. Type in the Start and End Dates for your mentoring program.
  4. Decide if each Mentor will only have one Mentee or work with multiple Mentees.
  5. Click Create.
  6. The mentoring program will now appear on your Mentoring Program Dashboard.

How to Invite Mentors to your Mentoring Program

  1. Choose a Mentoring Program from the drop down list.
  2. Enter the Email Addresses of the different Mentors. Make sure to separate each email address with a comma.
  3. Type in the message you want to send to each Mentor under Invitation Text.
  4. Click Invite. Mentorset will send an invite to each Mentor. Once the Mentor accepts the invitation, their name will appear on your Mentoring Program Dashboard under Pending Requests. You can either approve or decline a request.

How to Invite Mentees to your Mentoring Program

  1. Choose a Mentoring Program from the drop down list.
  2. Next to Email Addresses, enter each mentor’s email address. Make sure to separate each email address with a comma.
  3. Under Invitation Text, type in the message you want to send to each Mentee.
  4. Click Invite. Mentorset will send an invite via email to each Mentee that you entered. Once the Mentee accepts the invitation, their name will appear on your Mentoring Program Dashboard in the Pending Requests section. You can either approve or decline a request.

Mentoring Program Dashboard

  1. The Mentoring Program Dashboard shows you all of the people in your mentoring program.
  2. Choose a Mentoring Program name from the Mentoring Program drop down list.
  3. The pending requests, Mentors and Mentees in the program now appear.
  4. The Pending Requests section shows all Mentor and Mentees invites that you have sent.
  5. Click Approve or Decline next to the persons name.
  6. If you clicked Approve, the persons name will appear in the Mentor  section if you invited them to be a Mentor or their name will appear in Mentee section if you invited them to be a Mentee.
  7. The Mentors section shows all of the Mentors in the mentoring program and their status.
  8. The Mentees section shows all of the Mentees in the mentoring program and their status.

Approve your Mentors and Mentees

  1. After you have invited people to be Mentors or Mentees in your mentoring program, you need to approve them.
  2. Check the Pending Requests section on your Mentoring Program Dashboard for any Mentor or Mentees that have accepted your invite.
  3. Click Approve or Decline next to the persons name.
  4. If you clicked Approve, the persons name will appear in the Mentor section if you invited them to be a Mentor or their name will appear in Mentee section if you invited them to be a Mentee.

Mentee Profiles

  1. The Mentee Profile page contains the Mentees contact information.
  2. It has fields for them to indicate the best way to contact them and how long they will take to respond.

Mentee Dashboard

  1. The Mentee Dashboard contains information on what the Mentee working on with their Mentor.
  2. The My Mentor section shows the name of their Mentor, how often they meet with their Mentor and when their next meeting with their Mentor is.
  3. The This Week I am: section shows what they are working on this week (Experimenting or Helping Others)
  4. The My Experiments: section shows the goals they are working on this week,  things they want to learn more about and the steps they are taking to explore this.
  5. The 3 Things: section shows 3 things they need help with and 3 things they can help others with.
  6. The My Skills & Interests: section shows their Skills and Interests by category.

Scheduling a Meeting with a Mentor

  1. The Schedule a Meeting with your Mentor page is used to select a date and time to meet with your Mentor.
  2. On the calendar, click on the date you want to meet with your Mentor.
  3. A list of time choices will then appear under the calendar.
  4. Click on the time you would like to meet with your Mentor.
  5. Choose a location for your meeting.
  6. Click Submit.
  7. Your meeting request will be set to your Mentor. It will ask them to confirm the meeting with you.

Icebreaker Get to Know Each other Exercises

  1. The Icebreaker Exercises are designed to help the Mentor and Mentee get to know each other better.
  2. They can spend 10 to 15 minutes at the start or end of their mentoring session to work on one of the exercises.
  3. The exercises over time will focus the Mentee on exploring new directions for their interests.
